Good morning, parents!
I hope this message finds you well. We are busy preparing for the new school year assigning students to classrooms in the a.m./p.m. groupings and the Distance Learning group. As you know, all students will begin school online this year. When it becomes safe the a.m./p.m. students will attend school physically for a portion of the day while the Distance Learning students will continue to attend online exclusively. Aside from creating classrooms, we are preparing the campus for a safe return. All classrooms will have an outdoor table for students, desks will be set at a safe distance, distance dots and travel arrows will mark the floors, handwashing stations and bottle filling stations will be installed, and more. We have a reopening of school committe that is helping to monitor and review preparations and compliance with L.A. County Department of Health requirements.
Be on the lookout! The District will send you an email on Monday, August 10 with your childs learning assignment and instructions to register/access school accounts.
I will host a Zoom meeting on Thursday, August 13 at 4:00 p.m. to welcome you to the new school year and answer any questions you might have. We will have time to answer broad questions that will help many people. Specific individual questions will be directed to be answered personally with either me or an office staff member.
Whether online or in person, Seaside is a special place. Each staff member works diligently to ensure the best for each individual child. Our close relationships and support of one another will continue through this time and we will thrive! I am conintually impressed by the dedication of our teachers and the enormous amount of work being done to adjust and hone the teaching skills required for this new setting. I am awed by the dedication of our PTA whith members that are constantly working to enrich the Seaside program and experience. In fact, they will provide 'goodie bags' for each child at the start of the school year. We are the fortuante ones. So, please join us next week in our Zoom meeting in celebration and support.
